Community Ranks
The game now features community ranks to fill the different roles necessary to moderate a community.
This is a description for the ranks and the special commands available to them.
Note: [name]
can also just be the beginning of a name, even only the first letter. It has to be unambiguous though. You can also write the first few letters and use the <tab> key to auto-complete the name
Everyone
Welcome to the community everyone :)
/votekick [name]
- start a voting kicking someone out of the current game. Majority of votes wins.
/voteban [name]
- vote for banning someone from the current game and from chat too. Use if someone repeatedly sabotages the game or abuses the chat.
/invite [name] ([name] ...)
- invite one or more players to the current game you are playing.
You can get help in-game, which might show the latest additions, which didn’t make it yet into this manual: /help
. There’s more detailed help on each single command available too, by writing it without any argument, eg /mail
.
/switch [role]
- in case you got more than one role, you can switch between them. Currently, this only affects the chat color. Possible roles are player, community, advisor, mod and premium.
Community
After you obtained community key (which also grants you free giveaway avatar items), you are promoted to the community rank! You got more commands at your finger tips.
/m [name] [message]
- send a private message to someone. works with /p
too
/mail [name] [message]
- send an email to someone, even if offline
We give away community keys regularly on Discord and Twitter.
Advisors
New players tend to rush into multiplayer, having no clue about sneaking and hiding, let alone about the various ways on how to trap cops. Advisors are there to help them out and give them advise.
/kick [name]
- kick someone from the current game. Useful as a warning. In case someone is seemingly blocking the game, there is no need to kick them. They should be detected AFK within a minute, which excludes them from the win condition.
/rejoin [name]
- when in a game and a player is stuck somewhere and can’t recover, or is unintentionally blocking the game, or is glitching, you can make him rejoin using this command. It’s like kick, but the user will be back in a second.
/user list
- list the total number of users registered
/user role [role]
- list all users that have the given role.
/user name [query]
- list all users that contain the query.
/user perm [permission]
- list all users that have the given permission.
Also /role
is available for advisors. See description below.
Moderators
Moderating a community is fun. But also, with great power comes great responsibility.
/a [number]
- Accept a suspicious message. The wordfilter detects if someone is writing silly things and will provide you with a numbered list of blocked messages. If the filter is wrong, use /a [number] to accept the message with the given number and show it to all users. Moderators are involved in Spam control. In case the spam filer fails, they step in.
/rename [name] [new]
- rename a user. Use this if someone uses strong language or innuendos in their user names. Just choose a funny name for this person ;) No need to ban them though. Also note, that all users named Daisy-(number) are users caught by the spam filter. The spam filter might be wrong at times, so in case you meet Daisy just kindly ask what name she/he would like to have.
/ban [name]
- ban someone permanently from the current game and from chat. Because this can’t be undone, use only in extreme cases if someone uses excessive strong language or loses it completely in chat.
/recover [name] [account]
- You can log into your account using the user name and password given in the main screen on clicking the lock next to your user name. However, not everybody knows about this way of authentification. If someone wants his original protected name back (and you are quite sure that person really is that person), you can user /recover, to log the person back into his/her account. Caution: this will restore the person’s permissions as well! So if someone claims to be a mod, verify that on Discord or something, before using this command. When dealing with high permission levels, a second person needs to /confirm this action.
/role [add|remove] [name] [role]
- add a role to a the given user. Available are: player, advisor, mod. You as a mod are allowed and encouraged to entitle new advisors and new mods. When dealing with high permission levels, a second person needs to /confirm this action. As a rule of a thumb, to entitle the mod role, you need to
- trust that person
- make sure that person is at least 14. The reason is spamming. The word filter is there to protect young players from excessive bad spamming. Moderators see all the spam (see /a), though.
- that person is on discord. Sometimes we need to talk outside the game.
/role list [name]
- list the roles and permissions of a given user
/role switch [name] [role]
- change the primary role of a given user. Currently this only affects chat color.
